Today was lovely :)

Today the mom showed me a big box that I could maybe make a house for the kids why her and papa were out! We had great fun, I got a knife and started sawing away to create the most wonderful little house! Got a marker for Kate and she drew some lovely squiggles, then I helped out with making more of a tile effect :) Throw in some duct-tape and you have a work of art!! We brought the girls dolls and teddy-bears in, some books and cushions and had a great time! Later after Kate left to go with her grandma, I crawled(struggled) into the "house" with Susy, and she tried to sit on my head so we could read a book!
Also today Susy went down the stairs with me teddy in one arm, pretzel in mouth, and my hand holding her free hand! Every few steps she stopped to re-adjust the pretzel in her mouth!

Dressing Up :)

I layed out some of my clothes for her to play with, and then of course being as cute as she is, I had to take some pictures!! These girls love to raid my closet, specially my shoes!

My little Susy has learned to freefall! I put her on something high and say freefall Susy freefall!! And she just falls forwards expecting me to catch her! I love it :)

me and my girl!

Things I've Learned

1.) If it's really not a big deal let it slide.

2.) Always pack a spare pair of underwear, pants, and socks when you go out if the kid is being potty trained.

3.) Learn to sing some kids songs, always seems to get them in a more cheerful mood.

4.) Let them play by them selves too, so they aren't completley dependent on you for entertainment.

5.) When they are potty trained always bring a package of tissue with you in case they have to pee and there is no toilets, it's better than a leaf!

6.) Let them "bump" their heads and "smash" their fingers once in awhile instead of saving them, and then let them cry until they realize that they aren't actually hurt.

7.) READ books to them!

8.) Let them read books to their toys, it's a great activity, and makes them use their imagination!

9.) Dance with them, spin them around in your arms, or swing them out by their legs!

10.) Take them for walks, point out pretty things, such as leaves, flowers, houses that are cute. Teach them to appreciate beautiful things!

I know this list isn't very long, but I will add onto it as I think of more..

hmmm...

I have been thinking about my blog a little bit lately, and decided that I find it quite boring, and that I should focus on a subject and make my blog about something!
Seeing as my job being an au pair is really interesting and a funny story with my girls happens everyday, I believe I shall from now on blog only about au pair life. I shall try to write out in the most amusing detail activties of my kids, from sweet moments to those awful toilet training moments! I am also going to change the girls names for this blog to Kate(for the oldest one) and Susy(for the youngest one)
Hope that you shall enjoy the adventures of my life as an au pair and my kids! :)

jellyfish

I have always been very very afraid of jelly fish ever since I got stung by one quite badly! But while sailing I discovered that not all are bad :) These ones are great for throwing at other people! And they feel amazing to the touch, and best part is they can't sting you at all.. Weird thing was there were hundreds everywhere we went at first! And it wasn't the right season for there to be soo many. So if you went swimming it was fine, but once in awhile you would see a big red jellyfish, and then you better swim fast away! Because those ones will hurt, thankfully we didn't see many!

Sailing was in experience.. that i've well never experienced :) i really liked it! It could be very stressful with the kids though.. but over all it was an awesome time! I hope to get the chance to do it again!

me doing something stupid :) and painful...

Yes, I know it doesn't look that high, but it's higher than it looks.. although it wasn't that far

but it was far enough to hurt like crazy, and make me realize that i just did something very very stupid!! Lars the one behind the camera, thought i wasn't going to do it, and laughed about it the rest of the day when i did! My legs still hurt right now, and i had to bandaged them, because it burned so much to wear clothes, and you can't walk around without clothes, no matter how much pain you are in :) soo.. now i have these stiff bandages that make me walk like a man, but it's better than earlier when i was walking like an old lady or pregnant women trying to ease the burning !!
